Our wines are produced from selected grapes from the vineyards in “La Gorizza” estate, in Barile. The estate stands at 450 mt above sea level, on volcanic soil on the slopes of Mount Vulture, an ancient spent volcano.
Our new Aglianico del Vulture D.O.C., embodies perfectly the style and the character of the volcanic soil of Basilicata, with its mature fruit, harmonious taste, warmth and just the right touch of tannin.
Arcà is our flagship wine. Composed of 100% Aglianico del Vulture D.O.C., it is aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels. Arcà is structured and complex and has received excellent reviews from the most celebrated wine critics:
“The winery of Arcangelo Giannattasio is amongst the best in the area. Arca 2004 has a beautiful dark ruby red colour, an intense nose composed of dark fruits, tobacco and spices and on the palate it is deep, complex, mellow and persistant..”(Gambero Rosso 2007)
“…Intense and concentrated, Arcà shows itself to be an ambitious Aglianico with an impeccable technical approach” (Guida de L’Espresso 2007)
